Western Wildcats Hockey Club - Juniors

JUNIOR COACHING ARRANGEMENTS NOVEMBER-DECEMBER 2011

With the resurfacing of the pitch taking longer than expected and the continual wet weather over the past few weeks finally defeating us on the grass, we have, after some weeks of trying, managed to secure alternative arrangements for junior coaching until Christmas. This will take effect from week beginning Monday 28th November.

The times are not identical but we are restricted by what is available. We trust the slightly earlier timing in some cases will not cause too much difficulty.

Our Junior Program

At Western Wildcats we have made a commitment to developing our club, our sport and our community. For over twenty years our junior program has led the way in developing the stars of the future and we are proud that it has produced so many full, U21 and Youth Internationals.

Hockey is a game to be enjoyed and, no matter at what level you play, we'll cater to your needs. From Primary School beginners to U18 Internationalists, we offer coaching that is appropriate, enjoyable and delivered by experts. Our link with the Active Schools Initiative at East Dunbartonshire Council means that every young person in the Milngavie and Bearsden area is afforded the opportunity to play hockey both at school and at Wildcats.

Our Head of Youth Development, former Scottish Internationalist Euan Miller (pictured), says, "At Wildcats we are determined to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy playing hockey. We are proud to work hand in glove with each and every school in providing a first class programme of coaching so that every child can try our sport. No matter who you are or how much experience you have, come down and give our sessions a try."

Junior Coaching

Our junior program is the cornerstone of our success as a club and we are very aware of our responsibilities to young people in our community.

Our team of qualified coaches run sessions for boys and girls of all ages and abilities throughout the week. These are fun, friendly and a great way of getting involved in a fast, skilful and exciting sport.

If you are interested in finding out more, email Euan Miller through the Contact section of the site or why not just come down to Auchenhowie and get involved?Check the Training Times section of the site for the most appropriate session for you.

Summer Camp 2011

The annual Western Wildcats Summer Camp is a hugely popular fixture in the local calendar, taking place in the first week of August. Our team of enthusiastic, experienced coaches put on a week where you can develop your skills, meet new friends and have a brilliant time.

The summer camp takes place during the first week of August every year.

The cost for the camp is £150 per child for the week, which includes a hoodie and a t-shirt. If booking two siblings on to the camp, a discount of 10% will apply on the overall cost.

Booking forms are now available - click below to download the form.

All profits went to The Wildcats Challenge fund for our new, state-of-the-art water-based surface. The day is run in association with Spider Hockey:
