Match Report - 16 Apr 2011, Western Wildcats Hockey Club Men 6 lost to Clydesdale 5
This was a very close game in which we should have got something out of. For the first 20 mins or so we had good possesion of the ball but unfortunatley weren't able to make much out of it, and then through a couple of errors at the back we lost a goal, and then another to go in 2-0 down at half time.
In the second half we went out with a positive attitude and got a pc within the first min as a result of this we got a pf due to one of the clydesdale player stopping the ball on the line with his foot by accident. I told Murray L that he was taking it, and he duly dispatched it into the goal. We continued to press and the ball was going from end to end. At one point we got a free hit outside the 25 and i shouted to Murray to hit the ball in which he did, it when flying off my stick hitting the cross bar landing back on the ground and rolling away from the goal, due to the speed of the ball the umpire had no idea if the ball had crossed the line or not so it didn't count, however the clydesdale keeper did admit to me after the game that the ball had gone.
Shortly after this clydesdale broke away to score thier 3rd goal to seal the game.
There were some impresive preformance by some of our juniors, biggest standouts for me were Ross M, and Cameron M, and also for the sort times he was on the pitch Lachlan played well.
