Match Report - 05 Mar 2011, Western Wildcats Hockey Club Men 6 beat Motherwell 2
On Tuseday night the discussion about my game was how many we were going to loose by, by the team i had my team finalised on saturday thigns were looking a little better. The game started of with Western pressing motherwell up the pitch, unfortunatley with too many players going forward we were caught out at the back and lost a goal after about 5 mins. The game continued end to end with not many chances being created and the defences being on top. The first half ended 0-1. In the second half we gained George Pate who had been working early, and he went into CB instead of myself which added a more commanding voice at the back. And i went up front to add a bit of stregnth up there.
The game continued to go back and forth, after some some great play down the right Fraser Govan sent the ball acress the circle to Jordan MaacDonald to score the equaliser with about 10 mins to go. After this we concentrated more on defending to try and keep the scores level with some of us playing all over the pitch, i ended dropping back for the most part and helping cover the defence. With less than a min to go we got a break up the pitch and I and others went forward, the ball found it's way to Jordan McDonald who crossed the ball in, the keeper slid out, i slid in, not sure what happened but the ball connected with my stick and the next thing i heard was the ball hitting the back board and i had scored the winning goal.
