Match Report - 19 Mar 2011, Western Wildcats Hockey Club Men 6 lost to Hillhead 6
This was another tough game for the 6's with losing players on friday and getting in some players that have not played for a while, however the team played well for the most part with the new players to the team fitting in well. We had Ian Moir back for his first game in 2 years adn at half time we had John Telfer join us at half time who hadn't played in about 30 years.
One of our best players in the first half had to be Andrew McConnell who at 11 is showing real skill and promise and is not frightened to take anyone on no matter how much bigger and stonger they are, unfortunatley due to also playing football he had to leave us at half time, we going to have to have words with him and tell him that hockey should be more important as no one ever makes a career out of playing football.
Most of the team played well throughout that game and the younger players are looking good for the future. unfortunatley due to some bad defending and a break we lost a few goals of which Murray couldn't do too much about them.
