Match Report - 25 Feb 2012, Western Wildcats Hockey Club Men 6 lost to Giffnock 3
This was going to be the game that probably decided where we would end up in the league and we unfortunatley lost the game to a strong Giffnock team. With serveral of our juniors and adults missing through varying reason I was happy to be able to call upon Ian Moir for his first game in a year and also Andrew MacDonald who prob hadn't played for a bit longer. We unfortunatley went down 4-1 with Ali T scoring our only goal to move to the top of the scoring charts for the team.
We started of the game well and had Giffnock pegged back inside their own 25 for the first 5 mins or so, but after a few break aways they managed to start putting pressure on us and after us not being able to clear the ball properly at one point, Giffnock managed to tap in the opener. Their second also came after another break away. At the half it was 2-0.
We went out in the second half and tried to get back into the game, however Giffnock scored a 3, and then got their 4th before Ali managed to get a goal back from us.
The only thing I would ask for the rest of the season is for someone to step up and beat Ali to the top goal scorer.
