Match Report - 10 Sep 2011, Western Wildcats Hockey Club Men 5 lost to Giffnock 2
A fifth team with a mixture of youth and experience faced what has to be said was a superior Giffnock side. In the first half Western held their own by playing a familiar brand of passing hockey which led to a (not so)young Alastair Rankin sneaking them into the lead. Despite holding this 1 goal advantage for a large portion of the game Giffnocks sheer relentlessness and wealth of experience eventually broke through and once the floodgates were open there was seemingly no stemming the flow of goals. Much credit to the fives though for their performance, they showed a lot of promise and with a few more games together I believe we can expect quite a season from them.
