Match Report - 29 Jan 2012, Western Wildcats Hockey Club Men 6 beat Hillhead Indoor
The day started off with an early morning call off from Gareth which wasn't too good. Then after turning up at the pitch while is was in the middle of getting changed one of the clydesdale players managed to get a stick to the face and I had to go and treat the guy for a cut just above the eye which refused to stop bleeding. I evetually manage to get him bandaged up enough to be able to have someone take him off to hospital.
When we evetually got round to our own game after all that drama the game started very well for us with Fraz playing his first indoor game of the year taking just 30 seconds to score his first goal. Hillhead soon leveled then went ahead. By halftime however we had managed to get a 4-2 lead in the game. In the second half we managed to score another 4 goals to win teh game 8-2. At times we did push 4 of us forwards and on at least 1 or 2 occasions Hillhead managed to break away with only Rick A and Speedy in goal and they managed between them snuff out the Hillhead attack.
Well done to everyone who played, we seem to be getting stronger with every game we play. Young Rory again played well despite only being 11 happily taking on players much biger and stronger than himself.
With the other results today we now face Hillhead 1's next week in a top 2 play off from the other league giving us a chance to win the indoor league title if we win our next 2 games.
