EDINBURGH AGONY FOR MEN

01 Oct 2018

It was a sore Saturday for our Men's 1s who let slip a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to ten-man Grange in Edinburgh.

Western were 1-0 up at the interval through Rob Harwood and, when they extended their lead through Joe McConnell, things looked nicely set for a second victory of the season. However, Grange pulled one back and, despite Cammy Fraser's red card for a foul that led to Rob sitting out the rest of the half with an injury, Grange were able to first equalise then, with minutes to go, steal a winner. Lessons to be learned in game management here we feel.

The 2s found themselves 2-0 down to Watsonians but rallied to nick a 3-3 draw. Top marks for resiliance but Amit was understandably frustrated that they got themselves into that position in the first place.

With the 4s losing 3-0 to Uddingston, it was up to the 3s to give the club a victory and they duly delivered to the tune of 6-1 away to Glasgow University 3s. Stuart McCallum, Staurt Eadie, Barry Kane and a superb hat-trick from Adam MacKenzie did the damage.
