It was wins all round for those of us that had games at the weekend. The Men's 3s raced away from Helensburgh at Auchenhowie, and at one point were leading 7-1, before their game finished 7-3. The Women's 3s also won emphatically, beating Stepps 2s 8-0. The 5s won 4-2 away to Helensburgh with three generations of the Dick family all participating (Fraser, Simon and Stuart are pictured).
Down in rugby league country, the Men's 1s put the finishing touches on their pre-season with a 6-0 victory over Leeds on Saturday and a 3-2 win over Wakefield on Sunday in what sounds like a physical game. Reports that Hull Kingston Rovers offered them a third fixture remain pure speculation at this stage.
All in all a decent wee weekend. This Saturday sees a much busier card and the added interest of the national leagues' resumption.
