GIRLS DISH OUT SIX OF THE BEST

04 Nov 2019

It was a great Saturday with six wins and a draw out of the seven games our senior sides played.

The Women's 1s led the way with a 6-0 thrashing of title rivals Dundee Wanderers on Tayside. Ava Smith, Kate Holmes, Emma McDiarmid, Alex Stuart and MVP Megan Cox (2). Five points now separate the top five teams in what is a very open Women's Premiership.

The 2s and 3s also won well. The 2s beat Kelburne 2s 3-1 and the 3s dished out yet another hiding - poor old Ayr were the victims this time to the tune of 10-0.

The Men's 1s showed real character to come back twice away to league leaders Grange for a 2-2 draw. Man-of-the-match Andrew McConnell scored both, snatching the draw from an overtime corner. This leaves Western third with two game to go till the winter break.

Vishal declared himself satisfied with the result saying, "I'm pretty happy. They are a good team and we matched them so it was a fair result."

The 2s also profited from a clinical overtime corner. They were 2-0 up against Hillhead 2s, allowed the visitors back to 2-2 before Euan Cowan nicked their 3-2 win at the death.

The 4s won a friendly against Uddingston 8-1 while the 5s beat Stepps 2s 5-1.
