FIRST TEAMS SIGN OFF WITH A FLOURISH

18 Nov 2019

Both first teams ended the first half of the outdoor season with important league victories and safe passage to the next round of the cup.

The girls thumped Grove 6-2 on Saturday. Ava Smith continued her fine form with a double and Kate Holmes got two as well. Alex Stuart and Catriona Booth got the others. Yesterday the girls smashed Grange 10-0.

The boys played very well on Saturday. Three of the four goals in their 4-1 came from corners which is pleasing as this was an area for improvement earlier in the season. Andrew McConnell bagged two while Richard Pollock and Adam MacKenzie got the rest. Menzieshill's goal came right at the end. Yesterday they huffed and puffed their way to a 4-3 win away to Watsonians.

This leaves the girls within two points of the top and the boys several points clear in second. All in all a good first half of 2019/20.

The Men's 2s thrashed Kelburne 8-1. This was an emphatic display from an impressive 2s side. The 3s contrived to lose 3-2 having battled back to 2-2. The Women's 3s won 14-0.
