EVERYTHING UP FOR GRABS FOR MEN INDOOR

29 Jan 2020

The Men's 1s go into their final pool game on Saturday with everything to play for. They face Inverleith at DISC at 0900 (slow hand-clap for whoever scheduled that one) knowing a win or a draw coupled with a Grange defeat to Clydesdale sees them into the semi-finals. Conversely, however, a defeat and a Clydesdale victory over Grange puts Western bottom and facing a relegation play-off on Gala Day next Sunday. So, if Western do lose then they really require Grange to get something against 'dale and play-off with third place in the other pool in the afternoon. Clear as mud? Thought so.

Outdoor, we only have three fixtures. The Men's 3s go to Helensburgh 1s (1215) in the latest instalment in what has developed into a really enjoyable rivalry over the past few seasons. Western have had the better of the results in these encounters but they are always very competitive games and Saturday should be no different.

At Auchenhowie we have the 4s v 5s club derby. Hopefully this will be a good game although the runaway train that is the 4th Team tend to vaporise anyone unfortunate enough to stray onto the tracks so bon chance Muz and company.

The Women's 3s suffered their first defeat of the season last week and they'll be keen to get back to winning ways away to seventh place Irvine.
