Following the success of the 5k Challenge, we are delighted to announce a major initiative for August: The 10k Fundraiser
On Sunday 9th August, we are asking our members to complete a 10k. It can be anywhere they want and can be run, walked or cycled. The important thing is to get it done and raise a few shekels for club funds.
This is all the more important because we have an incredible tie in with the Robertson Trust thanks to Kenneth Osborne (dad of John) which DOUBLE-MATCHES what we raise. This means that every £1 you raise is effectively £3. The maximum for this is £5,000 so if we can hit that target the club will get an additional £10,000 from the Robertson Trust for a total of £15,000 added to our club funds.
Obviously, we want to be as inclusive as possible, so this is open to all ages and abilities plus parents, supporters, umpires, former members, officials etc as well as current members. It would be great to see the Ultras playing a starring role again!
We are committed to improving the experience at Auchenhowie for all our members and so a chunk of the money raised will go to improving the fencing and areas around the pitch and upgrading the bar to make it a more welcoming environment. Anything left over will be salted away towards the future replacement of the pitch carpet.
