Saturday's club day was a triumph with five great games and lots of people enjoying the hockey and the hospitality.
Highlight of the day was the Men's 1s' thoroughly entertaining 6-4 win over Edinburgh University. The Women's 1s were less successful, going down 6-1 to the same opponents. These games were effectively dress rehearsals for this Saturday's play-off matches.
The Men's 2s beat Clydesdale 2s 4-2 having been 2-0 down. The 3s beat Dumfries 5-0 with a Peter Mostier hat-trick pick of the litter and the 5s went down 5-2 to Greenock 2s. Corey Wilde scored two exellent goals for Western in this one.
The Women's 2s beat Uddingston and yesterday the Boys' U16s competed in the national finals losing 3-2 and 5-2 but showing up well.
