The Women's 1s made hard work of their 4-3 win away to Uddingston on Saturday, but got the all important win that keeps them seven for one and in second place in the Premiership. Yesterday, they made short work of their cup tie with a 7-0 win in a game that saw them pick up three green and two yellow cards.
The Women's 2s won 4-1 and the 3s won 10-1 on Saturday so it was quite the weekend for the women's section.
The Men's 1s had a disappointing weekend. They drew 1-1 with Grange 2s in a game that should have been out of sight by half-time on Saturday. Yesterday, they went out of the cup to Watsonians 2s 1-0.
Your freewheeling goalscoring Men's 3s did not disappoint, though. They battered a resiliant Helensburgh side and eventually ran out 6-2 winners on Saturday. Yesterday, they went to East 1 table-toppers Watsonians and played some sensational hockey to come back from a goal down to win 6-1. Of Western's twelve goals over the two days, six were scored by Dougie Simpson and four by Scott McCartney. Both may have a future in the game if they stick at it.
Finally, on Saturday the Men's 4s won 4-3 and the 5s lost 1-0.
