Our first teams are in the capital on Saturday to face Grange.
The boys have a very decent record against the Chaps, blowing a hole in their title hopes in the final game of last season and holding the league leaders to a 3-3 Auchenhowie draw this season. This is arguably the toughest game of Western's season but they certainly aren't scared of Grange and can hopefully get something from the game at Fettes (1100). Harry has a full squad from which to choose. On Sunday, the boys play Inverleith at Peffermill (1100).
The girls are on straight after the boys at Fettes (1245). They have yet to fully aclimatise to life without Scotland stars Becky Ward and Kaz Cuthbert who are in full time training ahead of the Commonwealth Games. Grange are second bottom of the division and this would be a good time for Wildcats very talented squad to step up and show the quality they undoubtedly have.
Also in Edinburgh are the Men's 2s who are at George Watsons versus Watsonians (1430). Western let points slip through their fingers in the 3-2 home defeat to Hillhead 2s and have a bit to do to ensure Division 1 hockey next season. Watsonians are one of the stronger teams in Central 1 and this will be a tough game.
The Women's 2s and Men's 4s are both away to Giffnock. The Men's 3s have no game following Kinross scratching their Sunday Reserve Plate fixture.
