Congratulations to our Women's 2s who secured the West District Division 1 championship on Saturday. Wildcats had the weekend off. However, Glasgow University's 3-1 defeat meant that our girls' lead at the top of the table cannot be overhauled and they win the title in the their first season after promotion. They have the opportunity to make it a double should they retain the West District Cup. Well done, girls!
Also celebrating this weekend were our first teams. The girls beat Grange 2-0 in the league on Saturday then progressed to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup with a 3-0 win over Clydesdale Western 3s. Kirsten Cannon and Lucy Findlay were on target against Grange and McKenzie Bell, Lucy Findlay and Emily Powell scored their goals against Clydesdale. The boys held league leaders Grange to a positive 1-1 draw. Andrew McConnell kept up his excellent form with a goal from a penalty corner which blows the league title race wide open. Their Scottish Cup game on Sunday against Inverleith was a victim of the weather.
The Men's 2s played very well but - again - lost to the odd goal: 2-1 away to Watsonians 2s. The 4s were beaten 4-0 by Giffnock.
