The league title looks very much as if it's heading back to Raeburn Place after our Men's 1s could only draw with Grange. Menzieshill's draw at Uddingston leaves the Edinburgh side six points clear at the top with a handful of games remaining.
Western took the early lead through Rob Harwood on Saturday and looked to have doubled their advantage when Harwood tipped an ariel ball into the D past the Grange keeper as the two collided. The outcome was - bizarrely - a penalty corner, one of a number Western failed to convert in the game. Grange equalised from the spot in the second half and held on for a precious point.
The girls had no problems in their game against Grange, winning 2-0. The Men's 2s lost 3-2 against Grange 2s but played some good hockey and an inexperienced 3s battled valiantly in their 3-0 defeat to Strathclyde University 2s. The 4s lost 1-0 away to Oban.
The Women's 2s and 3s both lost at home, 4-0 and 1-0.
