With a couple of wins last time out, both first teams now
face big away games as they aim to close the gaps at the top of the tables.
The girls (pictured) excelled against Watsonians and will want to take
that form up to Dundee for their game at Wanderers (1530). The Dundonians had a
perfect record until they were thumped 6-0 by Edinburgh University last
Saturday and certainly have the players to cause Wildcats problems, as well as
a point to prove after such a heavy defeat.
“It’ll be a tough game,” said Kaz. “But if we play the way
we played against Watsonians we can go up there and win. We have to work hard
for each other and focus on process. If we do that we will be fine.”
The Women’s 2s play Kelburne 2s at Auchenhowie (1300) and
the 3s are away to Ayr 2s.
Grange are very much the benchmark in the men’s game just
now and Vishal acknowledged as much ahead of Western’s trip to Fettes on
Saturday (1100).
“They are top with a 100% record and are league champions so
we have to play at a level where we compete – that’s the test for us. We have
the players to do it and we trained well on Monday so if we can take what we do
during the week into the game on Saturday we can be confident.”
The Men’s 2s are at home to Hillhead 2s (1130) and the 4s
play Uddingston in a friendly at Auchenhowie (1600). The 3s have the day off
and the 5s are at home to Stepps 2s (1430).
