Both first teams take the road and miles to Dundee on
Saturday to play Grove Menzieshill in their final fixtures before the winter
break.
The boys leapfrogged Menzieshill after Saturday’s win and
the Dundonians’ 7-0 defeat to Grange. Western looked the part against
Uddingston and will travel to DISC with confidence to what – on paper – is one
of their hardest assignments (1430).
The girls are also motoring and are racking up both goals
and wins. Grove are in sixth place fully seven points behind Wildcats and
another win here would round off the first half of the visitors’ season in
style.
At Auchenhowie we have four games. The Men’s 2s face
Kelburne 2s who are having a dreadful season. They are bottom with no points
and Western must feel they can win this one. The 3s are on at 1230 against
Strathclyde University 2s and must win to keep their title ambitions intact.
The Women’s 3s welcome Hillhead 5s at 1400 then the Men’s 4s – top with a
perfect record and a whopping goal difference of +42 – play Hillhead 6s at
1530.
On Sunday we have cup games. The Men’s 1s are away to
Watsonians, the Women’s 1s are away to Grange (1230), the Men’s 2s host
Kelburne 2s again (1200) and the Men’s 3s welcome Glasgow University 3s (1500).
