WOMEN HOST UDDINGSTON TONIGHT AND GO TO UNI ON SATURDAY

11 Nov 2021

The Women’s 1s have two big games in 48 hours with a home fixture against Uddingston tonight (2015) followed by an away game on Saturday against Glasgow University (GNHC 1630).

The girls are on a pleasing run of form, having won their last three games with 14 goals scored and only one conceded. Their visitors tonight are in ninth and are having a solid first season in the top flight. Saturday’s opponents sit just one point behind sixth-place Wildcats with a game more played.

Kaz is never anything less than confident. She said, “These are two games we are targeting to win and I’m confident we can take all six points. We are playing well and it’s great to see our young team gelling and looking threatening from all over the pitch.”

The Women's 2s play CALA 2s at Meggatland (1330) on Saturday while the 3s play Glasgow Accies 3s at Auchenhowie (1630).

The Men’s 1s are motoring at the top of the Premiership having dropped just two points so far. There is very little margin for error, though, and they will have to be at it away to Watsonians on Saturday (Peffermill 1430) to ensure they keep their run going.

Vishal is certainly positive about how things are going. He said, “We’re feeling good about last weekend as we got six points. The performance on Saturday wasn’t great but we still secured the win. On Sunday we played much better which is pleasing.”

“Callum Duke and Andrew McConnell are doubts. However, we have a strong squad and I’ve every confidence in whoever steps in to get the job done.”

“We are expecting a tough game against Watsons. They are a good side who have had decent results. The target is always three points as we have good momentum at the moment and want to keep the run going.”

The 2s are having a quietly impressive season. They are top of a very tight Regional League although second placed Edinburgh University 2s have a game in hand and just a point behind. Western host Dunfermline Carnegie 2s (1200) on Saturday and will feel they should win this one.

A rather threadbare 3s are away to Ayr (1530). The 4s host Dumfries 2s (1500) and the 5s are away to Helensburgh 2s (1230).
