A less than stellar Saturday was redeemed by a successful cup Sunday this weekend.
The Men's 1s were hugely frustrated to let a 3-0 lead slip against Clydesdale at Auchenhowie with the Titwood side taking advantage of a poor second half from Western to steal a 3-3 draw. Their equaliser came with seconds on the clock.
Yesterday, the boys responded to that disappointment, coming through a thoroughly entertaining Scottish Cup quarter final against Grange as 4-2 winners. This was a great game between the country's best Men's sides and they go again in the league on Saturday.
The Women's 1s lost 7-1 to Edinburgh University at Peffermill in the league on Saturday but rolled over Erskine Stewart's Melville 6-0 in the cup on Sunday to book their semi-final place.
The Men's 2s made it three wins in five days. They won 4-0 on Saturday then 8-1 on Sunday. They remain second in the table and through to the District Cup semi-final. Impressive stuff.
The Women's 2s lost 1-0 at home on Saturday to GHK 2s. However, it was a great start to March for the Ladies 3’s who faced Loch Lomond at Auchenhowie. Under the guidance of coach Mya Shaw the 3’s quickly took control of the game and pushed Loch Lomond onto the back foot. The mixture of experience and youth within the team delivered an assured performance highlighting the 3’s dominance of Division 4 this season. Young Millie Parsons making her debut for the Cats scored twice as the team romped to a 10 - 0 victory. Sitting comfortably at the top of the league the 3’s face a tougher challenge away to Blue Sox on Sunday 13th March with a 12:30 PB.
The Men's 3s succumbed 5-3 away to Helensburgh on Saturday which effectively ends any hopes of winning West 1 then lost 4-2 to a very strong Grange 4s in the cup on Sunday despite playing well. The 4s lost 6-0 to Stepps 2s on Saturday.
