WEEKEND ROUNDUP

03 Oct 2022

Our Men's 1s' first EHL in fourteen years wasn't a winning one but there were plenty of positives to take from their two defeats and lots gained in experience from the exposure to the very top level of hockey.

Their opening game against Harvesehuder was predictably tough with German ruthlessness and class resulting in a 9-1 defeat. Fraser Moran notched Western's consolation.

Yesterday's game against Egara was a much closer affair. 0-0 at half-time, the Spaniards took a slightly controversial lead in the third quarter before Adam MacKenzie levelled. Two late goals sealed a 3-1 defeat, though.

Back at Auchenhowie the Men's 3s saw off Clydesdale 3s 5-4 at Auchenhowie for their first win of the season. The 4s drew 1-1 with Rottenrow 2s and the 5s beat Helensburgh 3s 5-0.

The Women's 3s won 8-1 down at Dumfries while 4s went down to the same scoreline at Ayr.
