Our Women's 1s picked up a superb 1-0 win at Titwood on Saturday. Becky Ward was their scorer against Clydesdale Western in a game where Wildcats also hit the frame of the goal twice. Becky described the performance as "controlled" and "brilliant" and our women are now level with three other teams in second place in the Premiership.
The men were suffering from what looked a hefty EHL hangover as they went down 5-1 to Grange at Meggatland. Missing the influential Hamish Galt and with skipper Rob Harwood only able to play in bursts due to illness, they were well beaten by an organised and eager home side. Andrew McConnell scored Western's goal from the spot. This is the boys' first domestic defeat post Covid.
The Women's 2s had a bare eleven up at St Andrews and put in a great shift in a 1-0 defeat. The 3s (pictured) also had a bare eleven but dug out a fabulous 1-0 win at Strathclyde University.
The Men's 2s drew 3-3 with Watsonians 2s. The 4s won 2-1 at Uddingston.
Yesterday the Men's 3s progressed to the next round of the Reserve Cup following a 7-4 win over Watsonians 3s at Auchenhowie. The Women's 1s are in the next round of the Scottish Cup after beating Clydesdake 3s 9-0.
