Both first teams won one and lost one at the weekend and both are now semi-final bound as a result.
The men got off to a disappointing start on Saturday, finding themselves 2-0 down to Menzieshill in the first quarter. They struggled to make up the ground and eventually lost 4-2 with ex-Western striker Luke Cranney scoring all four goals. Later, they hammered Watsonians 17-2 to ensure they are in the semi-final next week. The results of the final games will determine whether top their pool or finish second.
The girls were just nudged out of a tight game against Clydesdale, losing 2-1, before they beat Edinburgh University 4-2 to secure their semi-final spot against Watsonians which will be on Sunday at 1410.
The 2s beat Falkirk 7-6 before losing 4-0 to Clydesdale and Hillhead. In light of the players they were missing and a couple of red cards this represents a pretty good day, especially when we remember that each of their opponents is a first team.
