We enjoyed something of a goal avalanche this weekend which meant some fantastic wins right across the club.
The first teams strolled through their Scottish Cup quarter-final. The women by virtue of a comfortable 3-0 home victory over Edinburgh HC. They join Watsonians, Hillhead and Edinburgh University in the draw for the semis. The Men's 1s recorded a barely credible 16-2 win over Inverleith in their quarter final. The other semi-finalists in the Men's competition are Grange, Menzieshill and ESM.
The Men's 2s were also in goalscoring form, something they have struggled with a little this season. On Saturday they hammered Grange 2s 7-0 at home before murdering Inverleith 9-0 yesterday to swagger into the semi-finals of the District Cup. The Women's 2s put in a great shift to win 2-1 at home to St Andrews University.
The Men's 3s not only won 6-0 on Saturday against table-topping Uddingston 3s but did so playing most of the game a man down after an early red card. Bob Young scored four and set up one in a man-of-the-match display. Yesterday they put Glasgow University to the sword 7-0 to march into the Reserve Cup semi-finals.
The Men's 4s beat Hillhead 4s 1-0 while the 5s lost 3-0 to Hillhead 7s. The Women's 3s drew 2-2 with GHK. The 4s again had a sickener losing 4-3 in the last minute.
So, of the 11 games played, we make it 8 wins, one draw and two defeats with a total of 56 scored and 12 conceded. Decent.
