DOUBLE-HEADER FOR MEN'S 1ST TEAM

02 Nov 2012

Vishal was delighted with last week's 5-1 win at Titwood, but looks forward to games on Saturday against Grange (1445 at Peffermill) and Sunday against Hillhead (1400 at Auchenhowie) knowing that any slips could be terminal.

"It is an important weekend for us," he said. "With so few games you cannot afford to fall behind. Grange are a good team who will provide tough opposition and Hillhead are well-organised and I expect a hard game there too."

With Kelburne back from the EHL this could be a pivotal weekend in the men's competition. They play Inverleith on Saturday who then face Grange on Sunday in an Edinburgh derby. Points have to be dropped by the top teams and the question is who will come out of things best placed?

The 2s go to Peffermill (1130) to play Edinburgh University 2s and they look very light without Fraser Crawford or Graham Lister. However, this gives the likes of Cameron McBride the opportunity to show what he can do as he moves up from the 3s. His replacement in the 3rd team is Euan McKechnie who has looked very solid for the 4s all season. They are at home to Grange 3s (1130).

The 4s have a stronger looking side than in the pasty few weeks and will hope to take points from Clydeside at Auchenhowie (1400). The 5s are at Rottenrow (1300) and the 6s are at home to Uddinsgton 4s (1300).

The Women's 3s go to Greenock (1400).

On Sunday, the 4s play Strathclyde University 2s (1200) while the 6s play Giffnock (1530). Both games are at home.
