TOP TEAMS HOST KELBURNE
15 Nov 2012
The denizens of Paisley should be out in force at Auchenhowie this Saturday as both our first teams play host to Kelburne.
The girls are on first (1230). They have enjoyed a number of close games against Paisley’s finest over the past few years and this one should be no different. Wildcats are aiming to put the disappointment of last week’s desperately unlucky 2-1 defeat at CALA behind them and pick up a first league win of the season. The boys are also aiming to exorcise last week’s demons – 5-1 home defeats to Inverleith are truly the stuff of nightmares – as well as shoring up their increasingly shaky home form. Again, this should be a good game (1400) and one that could go either way.
The Men’s 2s game themselves a real boost with a surprise 2-1 win over Kelburne 2s last Saturday. They will aim to keep up the good work against another top side as Grange 2s come to the club (1530). Grange hammered the 3s 7-0 a few weeks ago and will see this as a great opportunity to put some distance between themselves and Kelburne at the top of Central 1 so they'll set a determined face to their task. However, Simon has a healthy looking squad for a change and, again, we anticipate a tight match, especially in light of the 1-1 draw the two sides fought out on the season’s opening day.
The 3s host Clydesdale 2s (1100). This match-up resulted an 8-2 stuffing for Western last time out and, in spite of some brave performances, the 3s are struggling to cope in Central 1. Anything other than an away win would be a shock in this one. With the 4s and 6s having the day off, the 5s are the only remaining men’s team in action. They are away to Uddingston 3s (1345).
The Women’s 2s are at Cumbernauld (1530) as they aim to get themselves back into the groove after last week’s 7-1 defeat was followed up by a 2-1 loss at home to Glasgow Accies last night.
