Both first teams are at home on Saturday. The men play Dundee Wanderers at 1200 while the women take on Kelburne straight afterwards at 1400.
After their scrappy 2-1 win over Clydesdale last Saturday made it three wins on the spin, the boys are keen on finishing their league campaign with a fourth consecutive victory. Wanderers have toilled during their return to Division 1 hockey and Western are heavy favourites to take their twelfth league win of the season. Second place and entry into the play-offs is assured so this game gives Harry the opportunity to rest those who need it and work on one or two things ahead of next week's second versus third place game.
The girls missed out on a game last week due to the flooding at Auchenhowie (they play the rescheduled fixture against GHK on Monday night at Glasgow Green) and are looking forward to their final home league game this Saturday. Kelburne mugged them 2-1 back in the autumn with a last minute winner at Glasgow Green so Wildcats are keen to exact a measure of revenge on their own patch.
The 2s have an important game in Edinburgh against Grange 3s as both teams aim to assure Central 1 hockey next season while the 3s welcome Irvine to Auchenhowie for the early game (1030). The 4s are at home to Uddingston 3s (1530).
The Women's 2s have a crunch relegation match at Cumbernauld. Win this and they give themselves a great chance of staying up. The 3s are at Glasgow Green against Blu Sox.
On Sunday the 3s are at Stepps (1530).
