The Women's 1s led the charge with a 4-0 win in what was an excellent day's results for our teams. Heather Aitken's double was supplemented by Alex Stuart and newly recruited internationalist Kate Holmes in a comfortable victory over Grange. Wildcats are now second in the league behind early leaders Dundee Wanderers.
The 2s were less fortunate, losing 3-1 at Dumfries. Alana Gray got what was a consolation goal for the visitors who did not play to form or expecation. The 3s had a much better afternoon, beating Loch Lomond 2s 3-0 with goals from captain Julia Laidlaw (2) and Emma Baird.
It was three wins from three for the boys. The 2s won a towsy game at home to Menzieshill 2-0. Our observer couldn't tell us the scorers but he did comment on the high quality of the umpiring. He was, of course, one of the umpires.
The 3s ran out 6-2 victors at home to Kelburne 3s. This was a very good game and the fact that Western's stand out player was probably goalkeeper Devan Miller tells you that we didn't have it all our own way. Barry Kane (2), Stewart MacCallum, Ally Scott, Cammy Moran and Niall McDonald were Western's scorers.
The 4s got their season off to a great start with a 2-1 win at Hillhead 6s.
All in all a cracking day for the club. Here's to more of them!
