Game of the day at Auchenhowie is the visit of table-topping Watsonians who face off against the Women’s 1s (1500). Wildcats are enduring a wretched run of results having picked up just one point since the split. Watsonians, on the other hand, are flying and in with a real shout of a first ever Scottish title. Wildcats have shown up well in both previous encounters this season, though, and only lost the last one 1-0 with a goal seconds from the end. This should be an excellent game and one to get down and watch if you can.
The 2s are away to Falkirk (1400) who are two points behind them in the table. Wildcats have found results since the split a little up and down and a win here would do them a power of good. The 3s have a big game at home to Blu Sox as they aim to win West 4.
The Men’s 1s are back in the capital to take on Edinburgh University (1300) at Peffermill. Currently sitting in third place, the students are a very decent side and drew with Western 4-4 back in the Autumn. However, the boys have a five-point lead with five games to go and just have to keep chalking up the victories. A win on Saturday would be a big step towards the title.
The 2s are at home to Watsonians 2s (1200) who sit nine points below them in fourth. Western must continue to grind out wins to keep the pressure on Edinburgh University 2s who are two points ahead of them in top spot.
The Men’s 3s are away to Strathclyde University (1230). The 4s go to Helensburgh (1115) and the 5s are at home to Hillhead 6s (1630).
