DOUBLE-HEADER WEEKEND

23 Mar 2023

It’s a double-header weekend and our Women’s 1s can put some daylight between themselves and GHK and Clydesdale who are in fourth and fifth place respectively. Following their excellent draw away to Watsonians last Saturday, they are in a good place psychologically and their post-indoor form is picking up nicely.

Kaz said, “The games this weekend are another two stepping stones towards a top three finish in the league. Last Saturday was a great boost for the girls and a reward for their hard work. We will go out hard again this weekend and aim to take points from both games.”

Wildcats play GHK on Saturday and Clydesdale Western on Sunday. Both games are 1400 starts at the club.

The Men’s 1s are in Edinburgh for both their matches and must make short work of Inverleith (Saturday 1230) and Watsonians (Sunday 1630) to set up a massive game on the 15th April at home to leaders Grange. Western are in better shape than they have been recently with players returning from injury and illness.

Of Saturday’s 4-1 win Vish said he was, “Happy with the win but not the performance so similar feelings to the Edinburgh University game. The target for this weekend is six points so we continue to keep in touch with - and apply pressure to - Grange.”

The Men’s 2s also have a double-header in the capital. They face Edinburgh University 2s on Saturday (1300) in what could end up being a dress rehearsal for the District Cup Final. On Sunday they are at Inverleith 2s (1230).

The Women’s 2s go to Ayr (1530), the 3s to Greenock (1400) and the 4s play a friendly against GHK at home (1545).

The Men’s 3s are at home to bottom side Kelburne 3s (1100) while the 4s are away to Strathclyde University 2s (1530).
